Last Monday, my good friend and diva super-star, Rose Harting, got to see our collective vision come to life. It was almost nine months ago, at one of her backyard bbq’s, we started talking about doing a photo-shot at her house. I specifically “needed” to photograph her in her bathroom, which has this gorgeous afternoon light that shines though a big window over a cute antique claw-foot tub.

Side Note: Rose, bath tubs and me as her photographer are synonymous, as shown in the picture below taken in 2007:

Unfortunately, and fortunately, less than one month after that first idea brewing-day, Rose was on her way to France to immerse herself in the Parisian music culture on a self-guided tour. (Which, really just means trying to make some money for food and shoes. Right Rose?) Fast-forward to April, when Rose is finally home and voila! we wrote the photo-shot day on our calendar with a permanant pen!

Without further ado, here are some pictures for you!

[here's rose. and yes, that's a 1950's classic Santa Rosa kitchen with date-appropriate pink floral apron.]

[stunning!]

[a great vintage bathing suit worn by rose. special thanks to erin for leaving her crusier bike for us in the garage! ps: rose says "you're welcome!" her amazing legs are just one of her special treats.]

[rose has a great smile]

[a bridget bourdo inspired series. there so many more that i love to share, but there's only so much a ukelele and mermaid panties can hide!]

[rosie's pug babies loved to help out whenever possible. thank you lily and bruno!]

[i always save my favorite for a last little tasty treat]

I should have put on that list a 4GB memory card as well, because at the end of the day there were over 800 images taken, along with six clothing changes, five styles of makeup, and four hair styles. Oh, and all in less than four hours. Whew! Well, what can I say, when there’s a talented group of artists and ideas coming to life, there’s nothing more you can do than to just go for it!

Again HUGE hugs and kisses to Merria, from diPietro Todd Salon for being a great person to work with, nonetheless, an amazing hair stylist sculptur-ist  (!) and makeup artist. Find her at diPietro Salon in the Bay Area.
