This past Saturday Viansa Winery held a social for their 2010 brides. In the cellar tables were set, each with a different color scheme to give a little inspiration to the brides. Jessica, creative director & owner of Fleurs de France, and I wanted to take advantage of this gorgeous setting and use this opportunity to delight our visual senses.
I have always lived my life with the thought of how lucky I am. There are those little moments in life where I just stand back and say, “wow, I’m lucky.”
This past weekend was no exception.
Michael and Allison’s nuptial celebrations were nothing less than beautiful. From the outdoor ceremony nestled on-top of one of our beautiful Sonoma County knolls, surrounded by colorful vineyards and tall oak trees, to the reception celebrations under 140 year old olive trees, even the delicious mini-cupcakes sparkled in their own way.
Carrie and Kevin’s wedding was the most blissful, sunny day Occidental has ever seen … in my humble opinion, of course, though I think there are many attendants who would agree. Their wedding was held at a private home - a home that is no stranger to wedding bliss, as the owner’s own daughter was married there a few years ago. They rightfully call the home “The Haven.” It sits on top of a tall coastal hill, full of green meadows, lush and loved landscaping, and also comes complete with the owner’s own Redwood Groves. Are you in jealous yet? Well, you will be.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Photography, by definition, is “painting with light.” Today in my little class of 4th and 5th graders, we experimented with this idea. Using a dark room and flashlights with colored gels attached, we exposed the camera to 30 seconds at f-22.
