Kimberly & Mark - September 18th - San Jose, CA
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010I’m so lucky to have a diverse career where I am photographing baby toes one week, anxious graduates the next, and then the celebration of love the next week.
This past Saturday, Spencer and I traveled to a hip little place called Santana Row in San Jose, to photograph the marriage of Kimberly and Mark. The fun part about being a witness to this special day was knowing that they were referred from Leonie and Mark who were married in the Wine Country at Trentadue Winery. So, knowing them, I knew it was going to be a fun wedding.
Fun it was, but it was also gorgeous. The color scheme of black, white and red complimented the reception venue, where the old world charm of an Italian restaurant, Maggiano’s, was also decorated in a similar combination. We were also lucky to use one of the fabulous walls at Santana Row, a bright red wall decorated with black lamp sconces. This tied the colors in perfectly, along with the sexy black dresses (reminiscent of Mad Men) the bridesmaids wore and of course the handsome men all dressed up in the tuxes. Kimberly and Mark looked fabulous as well, and her red bouquet of flowers and sparkles matched the theme.
Here’s my favorite of Kimberly and Mark:
More Fun at Viansa Winery - Sonoma, Calif
Monday, March 15th, 2010Hello There! Happy Monday and what a gorgeous, warm sunny day it is in Sonoma County.
Jessica Switala, florist extraordinaire of Fleurs de France, and I had another great day at Viansa Winery photographing inspiring table decorations. In February, we photographed a stunning color combination of deep purple with silver and also muted yellow and white combination. This time, we photographed a springtime-green with white and a sassy black with fushia pink.
[i love this newest trend of three different vases with three sets of floral bouquets. crackled votive provide a nice soft light, especially for a reception set at dusk or in Viansa's wine cave.]
[this is the bridal bouquet jessica created for the springtime-green and white theme. jessica always chooses the best white ranunculas! i thought the sculpture at viansa was a nice background for this classic bouquet.]
[the handsome botinere - love the orchid!]
For my wedding, I chose a very similar fushia as my accent color. My wedding took place outside, but if it had been inside, I would have loved to use this striking combination.
[the heart shape occurs naturally]
[the fushia and black theme carry on in matching floral accesories. for the groom, a fun little piece with black feathers and a black and white striped ribbon. for the bride, fun threads of pink accent the bouquet with matching black feathers. remember, birds of a feather, flock together!]
Till next time, happy wedding planning!
Modern Day Bridal Show - San Francisco Wedding Expo
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Sunday was a blast! At the end of the day my feet were sore, my tummy a bit hungry, but it was all worth it.
My very first bridal show took place this past Sunday at the Modern Day Bridal Show, held at the San Francisco Concourse. Everyone, including both the brides and the other participating wedding professionals, really enjoyed my booth. With the poppy-teal antique doors, fun photography, and beautiful albums, it was bright, cheery, and different. (Believe me, it took some time to organize it all, but I was very happy with how it turned out.) It definitely reflected my style.
We had a great turn out. Many thanks to all the brides - and moms, sisters, best friends, and husbands-to-be - for making our first experience fabulous. Don’t forget, March 30th I will be drawing the name of a lucky winner of a Photo Guest-Signature Book!
Thanks!
Love in Paradise - Santa Rosa, Ca - Engagement Photography
Thursday, January 7th, 2010I had a very special meeting with Tracy and Jason over the Holiday Break. Special because this was our very first meeting and I probably will not see them again until the middle of next year - on their wedding day!
Tracy and Jason are getting married at Paradise Ridge Winery on June 25, 2011. This happens to be my wedding anniversary as well. By the way, Spencer, my husband, and I could not think of a better way to spend our anniversary than during a day celebrating the love of two people.
